Suzhou Village™
Value Retail has formed a new venture to bring its distinctive Chic Outlet Shopping® Villages to China. This extraordinary enterprise will focus on China’s major metropolitan markets including Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and Hong Kong.
Value Retail’s first Village in China will be located in historic Suzhou, which is strategically located 50 miles west of Shanghai. It will serve the surrounding Jiangsu province and the global gateway city of Shanghai – together recognised as China’s most important economic region as well as a top tourism destination.
The model for Suzhou Village™ follows the successful concept created by Value Retail at Bicester Village and La Vallée Village: two of the world’s most productive shopping destinations. It will serve a catchment area including a population of approximately 40 million people within a one-hour drive and 80 million within a three-hour drive. Located on the southern shore of Yan Cheng Lake, the Village will enjoy easy access from the Suzhou exit of the Nanjing-Shanghai Expressway, and is also well served by two high-speed rail lines connecting Shanghai to Nanjing and Beijing.
As the newest member of the Chic Outlet Shopping® Village Collection, Suzhou Village™ is scheduled to open in the summer of 2013. Like the other outstanding members of the Collection, it will be defined by a distinctive offer of international luxury fashion and lifestyle brands.
